Back to the classics, weird of me. xD

by W. Jiann on Oct.04, 2009, under Miscellaneous

These several days I have been indulging myself in some classics, stretching beyond the 80’s and 90’s. I don’t really know why, somehow I could just say that I love how people used to create music instrumentally back then.

On the other hand too, I can also say I’m very much bored with songs nowadays. Well, that’s now how I say it, actually. I do love some new hits, namely “Smile” by Uncle Kracker, “Four Winds” by The Killer, and “Turn to Stone” by Ingrid Michaelson. There are a lot more, of course.

How do I discover all these classics, you ask?

Basically, I’ve been tuning to a free streaming music service, TheRadio.com. It is more or less, the same as a radio station, just that it is online and without all those unnecessary announcements. The sounds are pretty clear too.

There are plenty of channels which you could tune to at TheRadio.com. The classics came to my hearing when I tune to the Instrumental Channel. Initially it was thought to be an instrumental, no-singing channel, which then I realized that some songs in the channel are more of less classical songs, with many way back from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

My reaction upon realizing that is pretty much funny and surprising, like how I always laugh about decades-ago songs. Not all are always that ‘bad’ to me, there are indeed some which captured my attention pretty well. Some includes Bert Kaempfert and Percy Faith.

Anyway, no matter what, you check check it out at TheRadio.com.

What a difference a day makes.

by W. Jiann on Oct.02, 2009, under Miscellaneous

It was the Grey’s Anatomy 100th episode special.

The episode is more of less, about Alex and Izzie’s wedding. What touches me the most was the ending, where the wedding ceremony was held. Adding to that beautiful scene was a spectacularly beautiful song too, “Turn to Stone” by Ingrid Michaelson.

Here’s the song by Ingrid, for you to enjoy.

And here’s the wedding scene where the song was played. Beautiful and touching. (sobs)
